McSweeney charged with CA Code of Conduct breach

Cricket Australia (CA) advises that Queensland’s Nathan McSweeney has been charged for breaching the CA Code of Conduct on 30 October 2018 in his side’s Toyota Futures League match against Tasmania at Kingston Twin Ovals.

McSweeney was reported for breaching CA Code of Conduct Article 2.1.9 – use of an audible obscenity during a match – a Level 1 offence.

The offence occurred during Queensland’s first innings, following McSweeney’s dismissal.

As per the CA Code of Conduct procedure, Match Referee David Johnston considered the umpires’ report, and proposed a sanction of a reprimand should the player accept the umpires’ version of events.

McSweeney admitted the offence and accepted the sanction, no hearing was required.
