Media conference: Domestic and family violence occurrences over holiday period

Police and Griffith University will today partner to deliver advice for those in an unsafe relationship, as well to empower others to reach out and provide support.

In 2021, the days of highest demand for police responses to domestic and family violence were Boxing Day, with police responding to 270 occurrences and New Year’s Day with 254 occurrences.

Griffith University will show the benefits of their free ‘Be There’ app, which is designed to educate, empower and support you in helping someone experiencing or displaying controlling behaviours.
