Melbourne worksite fire investigation

Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released CCTV and images of a man they want to speak to about a fire at a construction site in Melbourne.

A man jumped a fence and deliberately set fire to a cherry picker parked at the Queen Street worksite on Wednesday 17 June about 11.30pm.

The equipment, valued at $200,000, was badly damaged.

The person of interest had earlier been seen at a nearby convenience store in Elizabeth Street.

He’s described as 20-30 years old, about 175-185cm tall, with a thin build, dark complexion and had a thin chin strap style beard.
