NSW Premier Chris Minns’ decision to restore the words “women” and “mothers” to Parliament’s breastfeeding policy after Opposition Leader Kellie Sloane called out the gender-neutral nonsense is welcome, Family First Legislative Council candidate and National Director Lyle Shelton said today.
“Common sense has finally broken out in the NSW Parliament,” Mr Shelton said.
“Only women breastfeed. Only mothers are mothers. Chris Minns and Kellie Sloane are right to recognise that. Erasing sex from official documents is ideological rubbish, and it’s good to see both of them push back against it.”
However, Mr Shelton said the Premier and Opposition Leader cannot stop at protecting Parliament while NSW schools continue to indoctrinate children with LGBTQIA+ gender fluid ideology.
“If ‘mother’ and ‘woman’ are good enough for the Parliament, they should be good enough for the classroom,” he said.
“Right now, NSW schools are teaching children that sex is changeable, that boys can be girls, and that their identity is a matter of feelings rather than biology. That is not education – it is indoctrination.
“Minns and Sloane have just admitted that gender-neutral language is wrong when it affects them and their colleagues. It is a double standard to leave the same nonsense running in our schools.”
Mr Shelton called on the Premier and Opposition Leader to:
- Ban LGBTQIA+ gender fluid ideology from NSW schools and restore teaching based on biological reality.
- Ban so-called “Wear it Purple Days,” which promote queer culture and confuse children about sex and gender.
- Call out the NSW Teachers Federation, which is supporting this weekend’s Pride March in Newcastle.
“The Teachers Federation should be focused on teaching reading, writing and arithmetic, not marching for queer ideology,” Mr Shelton said.
“Premier Minns and Ms Sloane have taken one small step toward reality in Parliament. Now they need to take the same step for every child in a NSW classroom. Protecting politicians from gender fluid nonsense while kids are still being indoctrinated is not good enough.”
