Missed bin collections – City of Monash

Council’s bin collection contractor, Solo Resource Recovery, has reported a shortage of available drivers that mean some streets in Monash have had missed bin collections on their scheduled day.

A small number of bins have been missed, with most properties having bins collected as scheduled. Council is working with our contractor to assess and action any bins that are missed, including scheduling follow up truck runs with our contractor and Council staff re-visiting missed collections.

What to do if you bin has not been collected?

  • Allow some extra time on the day. If your bin is not collected as early in the day as usual, it may be collected later in the day.
  • If your bins have not been collected by the next business day, let our customer service team know online or by calling 9518 3555.
  • Do not take uncollected bins inside, please leave them on the curb as they may be collected at any time – including weekends.

To ensure your bins can be collected:

  • Put them out the night before collection day.
  • Only put accepted items in your bins.
  • Leave adequate space between bins and any trees, poles or parked cars.
  • Make sure your bins aren’t too heavy – if you are struggling to move them to the nature strip, they may be too heavy for the truck to pick up (trucks can only collect bins that weigh under 72kg).

We thank residents who experience missed bin collections for their patience and understanding.
