A man missing from Sydney’s west has been located safe and well after police issued an SMS geo-targeting alert.
The 79-year-old man was last seen in Blacktown about 11.50am today (Friday 9 June 2023).
Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command were notified a short time later, when he was unable to be located.
Police subsequently issued a public appeal for information and an SMS geo-targeting alert issued to the Blacktown area.
About 5.25pm, the man was located safe and well by a member of the public who had received the SMS alert.
