Mitchell’s new four-year Council Plan out now

A new four-year plan for how Mitchell Shire Council will support the community and deliver on key commitments identified in the Mitchell 2050 conversations earlier this year is out now for community comment.

Endorsed for release at Monday night’s Council meeting, the draft plan was developed with input from the community through pop ups, workshops, online surveys and a deliberative community summit earlier this year.

Based on the overarching drivers of climate change, pandemic response and recovery, population growth and financial sustainability, the plan outlines the strategic directives, key priorities and success measures across four themes: council, nature, built environment and community.

The four-year Council Plan sits alongside the Mitchell Health and Wellbeing Plan, long term financial plan and asset management plan to support Council’s role in the delivery of the Mitchell 2050 community vision.

The direction and priorities in the draft Council Plan complement the emerging themes presented to the community in August for the community vision which will be presented alongside the Council Plan in October for Council endorsement.

Submissions close 9am, Tuesday 12 October and can be made on Council’s engagement portal.
