Today (17 May) is IDAHOBIT, International Day Against LGBTIQA+ Discrimination. It is a day to celebrate LGBTIQA+ diversity, recognise the continuing discrimination LGBTIQA+ people face and raise awareness for the work that still needs to be done to build a more inclusive future.

To mark IDAHOBIT 2023, Monash Council is lighting up the Monash Civic Centre and the Euneva carpark in Glen Waverley as a symbol of our ongoing commitment to LGBTIQA+ inclusion and solidarity. We are also flying the rainbow flag at prominent locations across Monash, and hosting several public activities in person and online.

Monash is proud to be home to a diverse community where all people are afforded equal participation in public life, and where LGBTIQA+ people can be proud to be themselves. Today and every day, we are working to ensure our residents can lead safe, happy and empowered lives.
