Monash police nab four drink drivers

Monash police were busy overnight intercepting four drink drivers in Clayton, Oakleigh, Oakleigh East and Mulgrave.

Officers intercepted the driver of a Ford Falcon sedan on Princes Highway in Oakleigh just after midnight.

The 22-year-old Dandenong man returned a positive evidentiary breath test of 0.073.

He was issued with a $496 penalty notice and his licence was immediately suspended for six months.

Officers intercepted the driver of a Hyundai hatch on the Monash Freeway in Mulgrave about 2am.

The 34-year-old man returned a positive evidentiary breath test of 0.112.

His licence was immediately suspended for 12 months and his vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

The Lyndhurst man is expected to be charged in summons at a later date.

Officers intercepted the driver of a Holden Commodore wagon on the Princes Highway in Oakleigh East about 4.30am.

The 40-year-old Truganina woman returned a positive evidentiary breath test of 0.122.

Her vehicle was impounded for 30 days and her license was immediate suspended for 12 months.

She is expected to be charged on summons at a later date.

Officers attended a collision involving a Toyota Hiace van on Power Avenue in Ashwood at about 6:30am.

The 43-year-old Pakenham man returned a positive evidentiary breath test of 0.233.

His licence was immediately suspended for 12 months and he is expected to be charged on summons at a later date.
