NSW SES continues to respond to requests for assistance from the community with the support of our partner agencies and have responded to more than 9,258 requests for assistance including 463 flood rescues since the commencement on Tuesday, 28 June.
Over the last few days NSW SES have co-ordinated Damage Assessments teams, and so far conducted 7,234 damage assessments in the #Hunter and #Hawkesbury locations.
We have issued 167 “Flood Advice – Return with Caution” notices where appropriate and asking the communities to read the advice listed on these which are available on the NSW SES website. www.ses.nsw.gov.au.
As the communities are given the all-clear to return and the clean-up continues, the Resilience NSW Recovery teams are establishing recovery services in flood-impacted areas. More details below.
A cold front is forecast to develop tomorrow across New South Wales with frost on its way.
Showers and windy conditions may reinvigorate across eastern NSW on Wednesday. Monitor forecasts and take care in these areas, as sodden soils may result in trees toppling more easily, possibly impacting roads and transport. If you need to travel, allow plenty of extra travel time and never drive through #floodwaters.
Hazardous surf conditions are being experienced along the NSW coast today, shifting to the northern coastline into Tuesday morning and then easing into the afternoon. NSW SES is asking people in the warning locations to stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Monitor warnings and take care around coastal areas, especially in locations with recent flooding.
Multiple flood warnings remain across the inland and parts of the #Hunter. Some roads remain closed, continue to avoid non-essential travel in flood affected areas. While flood levels slowly fall in most eastern areas, across the inland, flood waters are continuing to travel downstream. This will take considerable time to ease.
