More CBD tram services for Mad March

The Marshall Government will be putting on additional Mad March City Loop tram services every Friday and Saturday night during the Fringe (15 February to 16 March), as well as Sunday night 10 March.

This means that trams will be running a 20-minute city loop to complement the normal timetable, creating a 10-minute frequency within the eastern CBD.

The city loop will see trams go from South Terrace to Festival Plaza, Festival Plaza to Botanic Gardens and Botanic Gardens to South Terrace.

“The Marshall Government is getting on the front foot and putting on additional tram services every Friday and Saturday night throughout the Fringe period,” said Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government Stephan Knoll.

“We know that thousands more people pour into the CBD for Mad March to enjoy the Adelaide Fringe, the Superloop Adelaide 500, WOMAD and the Adelaide Festival.

“That’s why we’re putting on these additional services on the busiest nights to cater for those anticipated increased crowds.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to get to the Garden of Unearthly Delights, Fringe venues and around the CBD.

“This will be the first Mad March in which the North Terrace tram extension will be operating and we want to encourage commuters to use this service as much as possible.

“Mad March is when Adelaide’s CBD really comes to life and we’re doing everything we can to get people to where they want to go.”
