More Labor scaremongering

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Health

Tasmanians all over the state can be assured that if they require Ambulance Tasmania’s assistance, assistance will be provided.

The New Norfolk station was temporarily offline overnight due to unexpected sick leave, with coverage supported by neighbouring areas.

It is important to note that Ambulance Tasmania operates a dynamic deployment model, where resources are able to be shifted to meet demand according to geographic need.

Labor simply has no credibility when it comes to rural ambulance services.

They have not committed to a single new paramedic for any rural community, and actually went to the 2018 election with a policy for less paramedics than the Government.

Then in 2019 they shockingly called on the Government to stop recruiting new paramedics for rural areas and instead put them into the cities.**

In contrast, the Liberal Government has delivered new rural paramedics for communities all over the state, and our $15 million rural health and hospitals fund is delivering hospital upgrades in dozens of communities.

This is nothing more than scaremongering from Mr Farrell, who obviously feels pressure given the strong challenge from Ben Shaw in the upcoming legislative council election.
