Today’s preliminary jobs vacancy figures from the National Skills Commission highlight our cautious recovery is working with Tasmania seeing the highest growth in job vacancies over the year.
The State’s job advertisements are now 33.3 per cent higher than in November last year.
Further, for the month of November Tasmania saw the second highest rebound in new jobs advertised in the country, increasing by 7.2 per cent.
Two-thirds of Tasmanians have returned to work since May and today’s data shows there are more opportunities for Tasmanians as we recover and rebuild.
We will continue to provide the certainty and confidence our businesses and community needs to create jobs and rebuild a stronger Tasmania.
I encourage all Tasmanians to continue to shop local in the lead up to Christmas and this summer season to support our recovery.
