More Powerful Together – celebrating International Women’s Day

To celebrate International Women’s Day on Friday 8 March, CFA will be participating in an emergency service sector exhibition hosted by Emergency Management Victoria at Federation Square.

More Powerful Together – celebrating International Women's Day

The event celebrates the contribution of women in emergency services now and in the past but also how we can work together to build a bright future.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is ‘More Powerful Together’, recognising the importance of women and men working together to build stronger communities.

Federation Square will come alive with demonstrations, interactive emergency services displays, exhibitions and vehicles to check out.

Representatives from Ambulance, Fire and Rescue Services, Victoria Police, State Emergency Service, Life Saving Victoria, Emergency Services Telecommunications Authority, Red Cross and Emergency Management Victoria will be there to talk directly about their experiences in protecting the community and career or volunteering pathways.

In the atrium there will be a display showcasing and celebrating the diverse and real-life experiences of women in emergency services to show others that they can do it too.

We hope you will come along and be part of this great event that showcases how we all work together as one and are more powerful together.

When: This free event runs from 9am to 3pm, Friday 8 March 2019.

Where: Federation Square, corner of Swanston Street and Flinders Street, Melbourne
