Seniors, older women and younger people will have access to 102 new properties being built in Dubbo, South Kempsey, Wagga Wagga, Nowra, Queanbeyan East and Wauchope.

Local businesses will take part in construction of the homes to help boost the local economy in these areas.

The new homes will be delivered under the NSW Government’s $22 billion Communities Plus building program.

The program will see 23,500 new and replacement social and affordable dwellings delivered across NSW over the next 10 years.

Minister for Water, Property and Housing Melinda Pavey said the NSW Government is committed to delivering purpose-built social housing for those who are doing it tough in rural and regional NSW.

“The NSW Government is committed to breaking the cycle of disadvantage and delivering better social outcomes for our most vulnerable,” Mrs Pavey said.

“The funding package would not only help house the state’s most vulnerable people, but would also help deliver a lifeline to regional communities.”
