The Finocchiaro Government is delivering practical cost-of-living relief through Sport and Learn to Swim Vouchers and the Seniors Recognition Scheme.

From 9 July, Seniors Recognition Scheme cards will begin being dispatched in batches, with most recipients expected to receive their cards by late July to early August.

These programs support active, healthy lifestyles and community participation making everyday living more affordable across the Territory.

Thousands of Territorians will benefit from cost-of-living relief as the Finocchiaro Government rolls out another round of sport and learn to swim vouchers, alongside the annual Seniors Recognition Scheme.

Territorians can apply for the 2026-27 Sport and Learn to Swim Vouchers, helping families reduce the cost of keeping kids active and building essential water safety skills.

At the same time, more than 17,000 eligible seniors will shortly begin receiving their Seniors Recognition Scheme cards, providing valuable support to stay connected and engaged in the community.

Acting Minister for People, Sport and Culture Marie-Clare Boothby said the programs are part of the Finocchiaro Government’s commitment to easing cost-of-living pressures.

“We know Territorians are doing it tough, which is why we’re delivering practical support that puts money back in the pockets of families and seniors,” Minister Boothby said.

“Whether it’s helping kids get involved in sport and learn vital swimming skills, or supporting our seniors to stay active and connected, these programs make a real difference.”

From 9 July, Seniors Recognition Scheme cards will begin being dispatched in batches, with most recipients expected to receive their cards by late July to early August.

“Our seniors have contributed so much to the Territory, and this is one way we recognise that while providing tangible everyday support,” Minister Boothby said.

The voucher programs continue to deliver strong benefits for Territory families, making it easier for children to participate in sport and access swimming lessons while reducing household expenses.

Territorians are encouraged to apply early for vouchers and ensure their details are up to date to receive their Seniors Recognition Scheme benefits.
