More timely and tailored support for bushfire victims

The Victorian Government is making sure people significantly affected by the recent bushfires receive the tailored and timely support they need to get back on their feet as soon as possible.

A case support program for people significantly impacted by the fires in Cardinia Shire, Baw Baw Shire, Latrobe City, Wellington Shire and East Gippsland Shire has been launched today.

The program is available now and for the next 12 months.

The case support program will help individuals navigate the various support services available including financial assistance; mental health services; family violence supports; services for repairing and rebuilding damaged properties and re-establishing livelihoods.

Depending on the level of support needed, it will see a case worker working with people and coordinating the support from various agencies for them – taking some of the stress out of an already overwhelming time.

People can access the service by contacting their local council, by visiting one of the recovery centres when open, or by calling 1800 560 760.

Information about recovery centre locations and opening hours can be found on the Relief and Recovery page on the VicEmergency website.

This program is jointly funded by the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements and the Victorian Government.
