More toilets in Bayside’s pipeline

We’re building a new public toilet along the foreshore at Green Point, Brighton.

This upgrade is part of Council’s $2.5 million four-year plan to deliver a Public Toilet Strategy that meets the priorities of the Bayside community and is connected to the ongoing works at Dendy Street Beach Precinct.

The location for the toilets was selected in consultation with the community as part of developing the Public Toilet Strategy (2019 – 2023).

The new facility will be installed in the northern half of the car park at Green Point near the Brighton Foreshore Gardens to facilitate easy access and to ensure the toilets are highly visible to minimise the potential for vandalism and anti-social behaviour.

The design will include two unisex ambulant cubicles, an accessible cubicle, a rainwater tank, bicycle pump and cleaner’s facilities.

To enable the works to be carried out four car parking spaces will be closed while the construction is underway between 7am – 3pm weekdays. The works will also require nearby paths to be closed. Signage and traffic management will be in place to guide pedestrians through and around the works area safely.

The works are due to commence at the end of October 2022 and be completed in February 2023.
