More visitor experience grants for the Territory’s tourism industry

NT Government

The Territory Labor Government is supporting and promoting our world-class tourism industry by investing another $3 million in improving visitor experience and amenity.

To date, $12.3 million has been invested in the Territory’s tourism offering through Visitor Experience Enhancement Program (VEEP) – and there’s a further $3 million available now for local businesses and tourism operators to boost their businesses.

From accessibility infrastructure upgrades to developing new visitor experiences and products, the Territory’s tourism industry can access funding support of up to $100,000 that will improve the on-ground experiences of tourists to the Territory and drive growth in the visitor economy.

The Government is investing $3 million in the eighth round of the program, with Round 7 seeing $2.9 million awarded to 49 local businesses.

The VEEP program has supported the Darwin City Hotel in the installation of 18 rooms with soundproof acoustic glass windows to reduce noise.

Dundee Beach Holiday Park has completed a new Tropical Resort Style Pool, turbo-charging its offering to visitors.

Territory businesses can apply for funding of up to $100,000, with a matching cash contribution required for projects that will improve the on-ground experiences of visitors to the Territory.

The funding stimulates private investment and has flow-on benefits for other industry sectors, with all applicants required to adhere to the Buy Local Plan, as part of the NT Government’s commitment to supporting Territory enterprises.

Applications for VEEP Round 8 open 20 March and close on 7 May 2024. Visit grantsnt.nt.gov.au here
