Motorcycle rider critically injured in crash – Greystanes

A motorcycle rider has been critically injured after a crash in Sydney’s west.

About 10.30pm yesterday (Thursday 27 October 2023), emergency services responded to reports of a crash between a car and a motorcycle along the north bound lanes of the Cumberland Highway, Greystanes.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 44-year-old male rider at the scene before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The 28-year-old male driver of the vehicle was uninjured. He was taken to the same hospital for mandatory testing and later conveyed to Granville Police Station where he is currently assisting police.

Officers from Cumberland Police Area Command established a crime scene that was examined by specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit.

As inquiries continue police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the crash – or has any available dashcam footage – to contact Granville Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
