Motorcyclist dies in crash near Wagga Wagga, NSW

Police remain at the scene of a fatal crash in the Riverina region.

About 7.15pm tonight (Monday 14 June 2021), emergency services responded to the Olympic Highway at The Rock, about 15 kms south-west of Wagga Wagga, after reports a Toyota had lost control and collided with a motorcycle.

Officers from Riverina Police District attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics and found the motorcycle rider critically injured. Despite CPR efforts, the man died at the scene. He is yet to be formally identified.

The Toyota driver, a 39-year-old man, suffered minor injuries. He has been taken to Wagga Wagga Base Hospital for mandatory testing.

A crime scene has been established with specialist officers from the Crash Investigation Unit attending to examine the scene.

The Olympic Highway will remain closed in both directions between the Sturt Highway and Urana Street for some time.
