Move to beat at Bondi Latin Fiesta, Sunday 11 February

Waverley Council

Samba and salsa your way to Bondi Pavilion on Sunday 11 February for the Bondi Latin Fiesta, proudly hosted by Waverley Council.

Rub shoulders with award-winning artists and creatives as we celebrate Latin American culture through art, music, dance and film at this all-ages community event from 11am to 4pm.

There will be live performances by the Salsa Kingz and Christian Guerrero on the Garu Courtyard stage, social dancing and samba and salsa performances, a special screening of the Buena Vista Social Club in Bondi Pavilion Theatre and a Colour & Cacti art workshop in the Yalagang Room.

Waverley Mayor Paula Masselos said Bondi and surrounds is home to a thriving Latin American community whose cultural and social influence has spanned decades.

“Multiculturalism is a way of life in Waverley, and in fact, Brazil is the fifth most-common country of birth in Waverley and Spanish and Portuguese are some of the most commonly spoken locally,” Mayor Masselos said.

“Waverley Council is proud to continue the decades-long tradition of Latin culture at Bondi Pavilion and the Bondi Latin Fiesta promises to be a great day out for the whole family.”
