Mower set alight near school grounds, South Australia

A ride-on mower was set alight near a northern suburbs school overnight.

Police were called to a school on President Avenue, Andrews Farm about 3.15am on Wednesday 4 November. A private security officer had responded to an alarm activation a short time earlier and discovered a break-in to a maintenance workshop.

A ride-on mower was also found on fire nearby, in a paddock behind the school. The fire had self-extinguished but was still smoking and MFS crews doused any embers.

The red Stanford mower was not identified as belonging to the school. Crime scene investigators will attend this morning to examine the vehicle and the scene of the break-in.

Anyone who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the Andrews Farm area or has any information that may assist the investigation is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
