MRFF grant criteria expanded

Providing greater access to the upcoming Medical Research Future Fund (MRFF) Missions’ grant opportunities, the criteria to become an Eligible Organisation has been expanded to include public and private companies.

If approved to be an MRFF Eligible Organisation, an organisation may then apply for MRFF grant opportunities, which are administered by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC).

Previously, only NHMRC ‘Administering Institutions’ – universities, hospitals and medical research institutes – could apply for MRFF grants administered by the NHMRC. Now, the following types of organisations can apply:

  • Australian public companies, Australian private companies, and other incorporated entities
  • Medical research institutes
  • Universities
  • Commonwealth entities that are bodies corporate.

More detail on MRFF Eligible Organisations, including the approval process, can be found on the NHMRC website.

Guidance on MRFF incubator and accelerator grants has also been updated.
