Murder charge in Granville, QLD

Detectives have charged a man with murder following the death of a 49-year-old man in Granville this afternoon.

Police were called to a unit block on Cambridge Street at around midday, following reports a man had been located with what appeared to be stab wounds.

Emergency services attended and attempted to revive the man, however he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A man was taken into custody at the scene later in the afternoon.

A 22-year-old Granville man has been charged with murder, burglary and commit an indictable offence and attempted fraud.

He is due to appear in Maryborough Magistrates Court on February 18.
