Murder charge over Ingleburn assault death, NSW

A man has been charged as investigations continue into the death of a man following a brawl outside a home in Ingleburn last year.

Just before 9.40pm (Friday 24 May 2019), emergency services were called to Chester Road, Ingleburn, after reports of a brawl involving a large group of people.

The brawl is believed to have begun during a party at a home on Chester Road, before it spilled onto the street.

Upon the arrival of officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command the crowds began to disperse.

An 18-year-old man was located on the roadway with serious head injuries.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, who conveyed him to Liverpool Hospital, where he later died.

Detectives from Campbelltown City Police Area Command commenced an investigation resulting in two juveniles being charged with murder.

On Wednesday (18 March 2020) a 27-year-old woman was arrested and charged with concealing a serious indictable offence and accessory after the fact to murder.

All three remain before the court.

Yesterday (Friday 20 March 2020) Campbelltown Detectives from Strike Force Faischi arrested an 18-year-old man and took him to Campbelltown Police Station, where he was charged with murder.

The man – who was aged 17 at the time of the incident – has been refused bail and will appear in Parramatta Children’s Court today (Saturday 21 March 2020).
