Murder charge to be laid after Pyrmont stabbing death, NSW

A man has died in hospital after a stabbing in Sydney’s CBD at the weekend.

Just after 2.30am on Sunday 22 September 2019, emergency services were called to Pirrama Road, Pyrmont, following reports a man had been stabbed in the neck.

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command attended and rendered assistance to the 40-year-old man before he was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a critical condition.

Just after 9am today (Wednesday 25 September 2019), the man passed away.

A 50-year-old man was arrested and charged over his alleged role in the incident.

He is due to face Central Local Court today, where his charge will be upgraded to murder.
