Name Donnybrook’s future community centre

City of Whittlesea residents are invited to channel their creativity in the search for a name for Council’s future community centre, to be located in the Olivine estate in Donnybrook.

The multipurpose centre will include a kindergarten, maternal and child health services, a pop-up library, and flexible spaces for community programs.

Residents can get involved by considering what they love most about Donnybrook and the heritage of the area. Council will shortlist a selection of the submitted names for the community to vote on at a later date.

City of Whittlesea Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson said that naming the community centre is a great opportunity to connect with the area’s history and understand the community’s aspirations for Donnybrook.

“Community centres play a crucial part in fostering strong local connections and providing easy access to early child education and health services,” Ms Wilson said.

“It’s only fitting that a facility built for the community, is named by the community.”

The community centre in Donnybrook is currently in the design stage. Construction of the centre is expected to start late next year, with the facility up-and-running in 2025.
