Narrogin Health Service officially opened

State Government investing in regional health infrastructure

  • Services delivered closer to home from convenient healthcare hub
  • Agricultural Region MLC Darren West, representing Health Minister Roger Cook, today officially opened the $50 million redevelopment of the Narrogin Health Service.

The redevelopment is part of a $1.5 billion infrastructure modernisation program to improve health services across regional Western Australia.

Innovative technology, along with new infrastructure and improved patient systems all have a huge part to play in modern day healthcare and this new health service is no exception.

Completed in stages to ensure minimal disruption, the new Narrogin Health Service showcases cutting edge design and technology.

Access to a ‘virtual’ specialist workforce is enhanced with 15 new telehealth-enabled consultation rooms.  This, along with improvements to infrastructure and new patient information systems combine to provide the best care for country communities.

Two new purpose-built theatre suites provide state-of-the-art surgical services with other impressive features including a new outpatient building and inpatient ward, two new birthing suites, a sterilising department, new dental and chemotherapy services, and a PathWest Laboratory Collection Centre, all delivered from one healthcare hub.

As stated by Health Minister Roger Cook:

“The new Narrogin Health Service is a shining example of investment in infrastructure to improve the delivery of healthcare for regional Western Australia.

“Projects such as this impressive $50 million facility are vital components in the complex network of services we deliver as we strive to ensure our country communities continue to thrive.

“These state-of-the-art facilities and equipment means Wheatbelt families will receive top quality healthcare that is closer to home and to their loved ones.”

As stated by Agricultural Region MLC Darren West:

“One of the most impressive aspects of this new facility is that it is the result of genuine, collaborative community consultation.

“This is a health service that our local community can be proud of for generations to come; a facility for the future showcasing cutting edge design and technology.

“The opening of the new Narrogin Health Service means the local community has access to a purpose-built facility with the convenience of a range of health services under one roof.”
