From Monday 3 August to Sunday 9 August, City of Port Phillip is offering a range of free activities to help educate the community and encourage open and informed conversations.
We want to inspire everyone to play a part in creating a fairer, more inclusive society, where everyone has access to safe and secure housing.
How you can get involved:
Activity | Details | Date |
Homelessness Film Screening & Discussion | Attend a public screening of a feature film exploring experiences of homelessness in Port Phillip, followed by a facilitated discussion and Q&A with a guest who has lived experience of homelessness. | Monday 3 August 5 pm to 7 pm |
Homeless Memorial | Join us for a community memorial to remember and honour people who have died while experiencing homelessness. This reflective event provides an opportunity to come together, acknowledge lives lost, and recognise the human impact of homelessness. | Wednesday 5 August 10.30 am to 1 pm |
“Houses of Parliament” Simulation | Take part in an interactive workshop that explores how housing decisions affect different people in our community. Through real-world scenarios, group discussions and a collaborative origami house activity, participants will gain insight into the challenges of addressing homelessness. | Thursday 6 August 10 am to 12 midday |
