The NSW Nationals are calling for the release of the NSW Productivity and Equality Commission review of red tape in the hospitality sector.
The final report and recommendations were handed to the Minns Labor Government in August, but they are still buried under rolls of red tape in the Minister’s bottom drawer.
Shadow Minister for Small Business Gurmesh Singh said September is now coming to an end and the Minns Labor Government is yet to release the findings.
“This government is all talk and no action. With only four Parliamentary sitting weeks left before the election, they’ve left themselves little room to act on the findings and help small business owners and operators in the hospitality sector,” Mr Singh said.
Businesses across NSW are ceasing trade at the highest rate in the country.
The Minns Labor Government’s own reporting shows just 16 per cent of businesses are confident about their prospects.
“Restaurants and cafes from Dorrigo to Darling Harbour need outcomes from this review, with the future of many small businesses relying on it,” Mr Singh said.
“Small businesses can’t afford for this government to sit on their hands any longer. Release the findings and get on with getting out of the way!”
