NDIS support welcome

Jeremy Rockliff,Minister for Disability Services and Community Development

The Tasmanian Government welcomes today’s announcement by the Federal Government outlining the supports available to participants of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in response to COVID-19.

Tasmanians with disability, their family, carers and the organisations caring for them, now have more certainty regarding the supports, both financial and operational, available to them in regards to dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.

At this time, public health advice is changing frequently, in line with the situation, and the Australian Government and Tasmanian Government Department of Health websites remain the most appropriate sources for the latest information.

For advice specific to people with disability and their carers, the NDIA and the NDIS Quality and Safety Commission websites should also be checked regularly for up to date information.

If any registered provider of services to people with disability has a change in circumstances, they should contact the NDIS Quality and Safety Commission.
