NDS reiterates support for Disability Royal Commission

With the Royal Commission into Violence, Abuse, Neglect and Exploitation of People with Disability set to commence hearing evidence next week, National Disability Services (NDS), the peak representative body for disability service providers, has reiterated its support for the Commission’s important work.

NDS Acting CEO, David Moody said, “People with disability, like everyone in our community, have the right to live free of abuse, neglect, violence and exploitation.

“NDS will be cooperating fully with the Commission and we look forward to contributing to the discussion on the future of high-quality disability service provision.

“This is an historic, sector-wide opportunity to critically review what is working well and more importantly, what is not, in order to bring about systemic change.

“NDS continues to promote human rights through programs like our Zero Tolerance initiative, designed to foster positive cultures and embed continuous improvement.”
