NDS seeks data on supported employment outcomes

NDS is keen to engage its membership in the design of the new NDIS pricing and funding model for supported employment. As the vast bulk of supported employees transition into the NDIS, the data collection exercises conducted by DSS for the disability services census are being phased out. Consequently, the ‘visibility’ of supported employees, the sector’s workforce characteristics as well as evidence of their employment outcomes, are likely to disappear from public view. This “data vacuum” places the sector at risk and has the potential to limit the choice of employment options for NDIS participants.

In order to inform our ongoing policy advocacy for the outcome of the SES Award Review, development of the new NDIS pricing and funding model and the upcoming Royal Commission, NDS requests that our Disability Enterprise members participate in this very short survey. The survey seeks information from members on current wage tools used by Disability Enterprises, supported employee hours worked, and hourly wage data, as well as a brief time series record of supported employee numbers.
