From 1 July 2019, all disability services supporting NDIS participants will be subject to the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Framework and its accompanying Practice Standards. The Victorian Government will retain responsibility for the regulation of residential rights for people with disability, with Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) regulating tenancy law.
NDS will be working closely with the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) and CAV in the coming months to provide input on the new regulatory framework. Over the next financial year, we will develop resources and host metropolitan and regional forums to assist providers.
