New $20 million upgrades to Champion Bay Senior High School

  • $20 million upgrades to facilities to prepare students for jobs of the future
  • Expansion to enrol students from Years 7 to 12 
  • Champion Bay Senior High School’s major upgrade is now complete and ready for students to experience.

    The school opened in 2004 and catered for students from Years 7 to 9. Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery today opened the school’s new facilities, designed to support student achievement and cater for their new Year 10 to 12 students.

    Developing student creativity and ingenuity have taken priority in the upgrade, with the construction of a new dance studio, music centre, performing arts theatre and technologies centre.

    Core services such as the cafeteria, administration area and student services have also received major work to provide the most efficient learning environment for a larger number of students.

    The school has a full curriculum with a specialist science, technology, engineering and mathematics academic program to ensure students are prepared for the jobs of the future.

    As stated by Education and Training Minister Sue Ellery:

    “Champion Bay Senior High School will greatly benefit the community of Geraldton.

    “The building upgrades provide students with a learning environment that fosters creative thinking and self-driven learning.

    “The school’s extensive academic programs will produce young adults capable of succeeding in any career pathway.”
