Derby’s new $3.7 million community health service building has reached practical completion, which will deliver modern, fit-for-purpose health facilities for the local community.
The new building includes two consult rooms, an immunisation clinic room for adult and child immunisations and a child health clinic room, and a multipurpose training and therapy room, which provides space for allied health services to be delivered on site.
The building was designed with the patient front-of-mind, ensuring community and child health services are available in one multi-purpose location.
It will also feature a range of welcoming artwork created by local artists, with each piece chosen by residents.
The McGowan Government project was undertaken by Kimberley sub-contractors and created more than 50 local jobs throughout construction.
The facility will welcome some patients this year ahead of an official opening next year.
As stated by Health Minister Roger Cook:

“This project is a great example of our Buy Local Policy in action with more than 50 skilled locals employed in the construction and featuring the work of Kimberley artists.”
