A new purpose-built adventure lodge has opened in the heart of Collie, boosting the town’s accommodation capacity and creating more opportunities for visitors to experience the South West.
Voltage Lodge, which has reimagined the 90-year-old Collie Co-op storeroom building, features private and shared rooms, communal spaces, and bike facilities, creating a welcoming base for visitors to connect, recharge, and explore the region.
Supported by the Cook Labor Government’s National Park Tourism Experiences Development (NPTED) Program and funded through the Collie Futures Small Grants Program, the lodge gives up to 30 visitors per night greater access to explore the region’s renowned trails, forests, and waterways.
The $17.7 million NPTED Program was established to support the development of diverse, high-quality, environmentally conscious, and culturally sensitive tourism experiences in and around national parks and protected areas.
Since 2022, the program has supported almost 140 accommodation, attraction, and tourism experience projects across Western Australia, helping to increase the density and diversity of visitor offerings throughout the State.
Investing in tourism infrastructure and experiences across Western Australia’s regions encourages greater visitor dispersal and delivers economic benefits for regional communities, creating jobs and supporting local businesses, and diversifying WA’s economy.
