The Northern Territory Sports Awards are back in 2022.
Nominations have opened this week for Territorians to be recognised for their achievements within our sporting community.
2022 will see a new category added to the awards. The Karen Schneider Sports Medicine Australia Safer Sport award will honour the memory of the late Ms Karen Schneider, a qualified sports physiotherapist who spent many years volunteering at sporting events to ensure that sport was safe for participants. She also volunteered her time to drive important changes to policies and procedures to keep athletes safe.
Recognising players, coaches, officials and volunteers, this year’s awards will focus on the outstanding performances and achievements of our local sporting heroes across local Territory-based sporting competitions.
The awards, which will include 12 categories, will be announced in Darwin in May 2022. Categories range from Sportsperson of the Year, Team of the Year, Coach of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
Nominations close on Friday 4 March 2022.
