New Beaudesert Police Station officially open to serve growing community

Minister for Police and Corrective Services and Minister for Fire and Emergency Services The Honourable Mark Ryan

Minister for Police and Corrective Services and Minister for Fire and Emergency Services the Honourable Mark Ryan MP has today joined Commissioner Katarina Carroll to officially open the new Beaudesert Police Station.

The new station replaces the original station, first opened in 1981, in Anna Street, Beaudesert.

The new $7.1 million station is part of the Palaszczuk Government’s $300 million, five year police infrastructure pipeline and includes sustainable features like water tank recycling and solar power.

Commissioner Carroll said this station was about future planning for the community and the Service.

“As the local population has grown, so has the need for greater police presence and resources in the area,” Commissioner Carroll said.

“This new replacement facility enables Beaudesert Police to meet the current policing requirements of the community and allows for future expansion as the need arises.

“This tight-knit and diverse community now has access to a new and modern facility, equipped with the resources their local police need so they can be best placed to service the growing needs of the area.

“I look forward to seeing the positive impact of this new station and wish all the officers well in settling in and servicing the community within the district.”

Minister Ryan said the transformation of the station in Anna Street was fantastic to see.

“It’s an amazing new facility for the area and for the local police,” Minister Ryan said.

“I know that this newly built station will enable officers to continue the high standard and dedicated policing the community of Beaudesert and surrounds has seen so far, with values placed on community and crime prevention.

“The Palaszczuk Government backs the Queensland Police Service 100% which is why the government’s record budget allocations have made new police infrastructure like the new station at Beaudesert possible.”
