Continuity of safe and compassionate care is the focus for NBMLHD and St John of God Health Care as we work together to ensure a smooth transition for our patients and staff.

During this transition Hawkesbury District Health Service, known as Hawkesbury Hospital, will remain open. This will include its 24-hour emergency department, operating theatres, community health services and outpatients’ clinics.

Public patient appointments and clinic hours are not changing.

Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is well placed to continue the services provided by Hawkesbury Hospital. We deliver world-class, innovative health care from our four hospital campuses and nine community health centres, providing 24-hour comprehensive care to over 380,000 residents across the Nepean, Blue Mountains, Lithgow and Hawkesbury region

We will work with Hawkesbury Hospital staff to ensure their skills and valued local knowledge continues to play an integral role in providing high quality health care to our community.

Throughout the transition, we will regularly update and engage with staff and the community to ensure we capture and retain the best from current services.

NBMLHD is proud of our enduring and deep connection to the community and we look forward to continuing to build on our 150 years of health care service.
