New board appointment for Landgate

  • Architect and experienced board member Kylee Schoonens joins Landgate Board
  • Ms Schoonens’ two-year term starts on January 1, 2022
  • Lands Minister Tony Buti has today announced the appointment of Kylee Schoonens to the Landgate Board.

Ms Schoonens brings a wealth of private and public sector experience to the State’s land information authority. She has worked as a practising architect and held positions on several boards and committees.

Landgate board members have public and private sector experience, commercial acumen and expertise in information technology, strategy development and financial management. Members are appointed for fixed terms of up to three years and can be reappointed.

The Board is responsible for the performance of Landgate’s functions and determines its strategic direction.

Kylee is a non-executive director for a number of organisations and executive director of her own architectural, interior and urban design practice. Kylee has also previously served as a non-executive director at DevelopmentWA.

Ms Schoonens’ appointment was made possible by the retirement of long-serving board member and deputy chair, Anne Arnold. Monish Paul, appointed to the Landgate Board in 2017, will replace Ms Arnold as the new deputy chair.

As stated by Lands Minister Tony Buti:

“I am extremely pleased to have a person of Kylee’s calibre and experience on the Landgate board. She has tremendous industry experience including leadership and advocacy roles, which extends to time on the board of DevelopmentWA.

“I also extend my appreciation to outgoing board member Anne Arnold for her nine years of service, including time as deputy chair and chair of Landgate’s Audit and Risk Committee.”
