Three well-respected South Australians have been appointed to the Urban Renewal Authority Board of Management (the Board), commencing 1 August 2019.
Anne Skipper, Phil Rundle and Kimberley Gillan all join the Board with current member Con Tragakis elevated to chair the group as the Presiding Member.
These new Board members bring considerable local experience and strategic knowledge of the residential, retail and commercial property sectors in Adelaide, helping the strategic governance and direction to Renewal SA’s operations to take on a fresh look.
Anne Skipper has more than 35 years’ experience as a board director and chair of government, not-for-profit and private sector boards across health, financial services, education, tourism and planning.
Phil Rundle has more than 30 years’ experience in the commercial property sector in Adelaide, and prior to his role as CBRE Director, was Managing Director and Principal at his own firm Burgess Rawson, and a Director at Colliers Jardine.
Kimberley Gillan has been the South Australian State Representative at Charter Hall for almost two years, and previously a Senior Commercial Property Manager, Associate Director and Senior Associate Director at CBRE.
The current Presiding Member, Bronwyn Pike formally advised she will be concluding her term at the end of this month, after serving for seven years in the role.
Board members Phil Baker, David McArdle and Terry Groom are leaving the Board to make way for the incoming members.
“The new Board members will enhance the Board’s credentials and knowledge, complementing the wide-ranging expertise and experience of existing members Helen Fulcher, Jim McDowell and Con Tragakis,” said Minister Speirs.
“The appointment of Anne, Phil and Kimberley will build a strong and balanced leadership group, with in-depth experience in corporate governance and a wealth of local business knowledge.
“Con’s credentials speak for themselves, with a distinguished 27-year career within KPMG in Australia and the UK, and currently operating his own advisory practice where he provides high- level guidance to companies in property, financial services and asset management.
“Bronwyn, Phil, David and Terry made a significant contribution during their tenures, and the State Government thanks them for their service.”
Passionate new Presiding Member Con Tragakis was delighted to take on this new challenge and feels confident that he has the full support of the right people to steer Renewal SA in the right direction.
“Through the development of publicly-owned real property managed by Renewal SA, we have a huge opportunity to drive economic prosperity in South Australia,” said Mr Tragakis.
“As a Board, we will seek continual improvements in performance of Renewal SA through the implementation of effective strategy, in partnership with the private sector property development industry, to stimulate demand and interest for SA real property projects.
“The activity under Renewal SA’s management and control is critical to the state’s growth agenda, and the positive impacts of urban renewal as a contributor must be better understood and acknowledged.”
