New bus route between Golden Grove Village and Mawson Lakes Interchange

The Marshall Government has announced a new bus service (Route 566), to operate between Golden Grove Village and Mawson Lakes Interchange, incorporating a new section of Wynn Vale Drive.

The State Government sought feedback on two different route options, and the location of three bus stops to be installed on each side of Wynn Vale Drive, between Bridge Road and Keithcott Farm Drive.

A total of 259 responses were received over the consultation period.

The preferred option to be implemented, supported by 62 per cent of respondents, is:

  • The 566 service will operate 10 trips in each direction – Monday to Friday, and 5 trips in each direction – Saturday, in the AM Peak, Interpeak (between 9am & 3pm) and PM Peak periods and will replace every second trip on the existing 565 service. As a result, there will be a slightly reduced bus frequency on a small section of the existing 565 service. This service will not impact the existing 560 service.

It is anticipated that the new bus service will be implemented from Sunday, 8 September.

“The Marshall Government is delivering on its election commitment to build better services and provide new bus stops on sections of Wynn Vale Drive,” said Minister for Transport, Infrastructure and Local Government Stephan Knoll.

“We are continuing to improve public transport services for the people in the north eastern suburbs, including building a Park ‘n’ Ride at Golden Grove.”

Member for King Paula Luethen said the community consultation had been a success, with their feedback taken on board.

“The community has been asking for a service before 9am to help get children to school and it’s fantastic that this was included in the proposed service plans,” said Ms Luethen.

“The community asked for more east-west connections and a service before 9am to help get children to school and it’s fantastic that that feedback was taken on board.

“I’m delighted that we’ve been able to deliver on another election commitment for the people of the north eastern suburbs.

“This new route will provide an important east-west link which will help connect Golden Grove Village to Mawson Lakes.”
