New café offers weekend coffee break

A new cafe is now operating in Underwood Park.
Division 1 Councillor Lisa Bradley welcomes Laura Thompson and Alex Thompson from Moonlight Bandit Café as the operators of a new café in Underwood Park.

Visitors to Underwood Park can now enjoy a coffee and a snack.

A café has opened near the FUNderwood Hollow playground area as part of the park’s redevelopment.

City Lifestyle Deputy Chair Tony Hall said the café will be well-suited to young families visiting and using the playground facilities as well as the area’s mountain biking community.

Cr Hall said Logan City Council recently undertook a tender process to attract experienced operators to operate the café.

“We were pleased by the interest shown and the news that Moonlight Bandit Café will initially operate the café between 8am and 2pm on Saturdays and Sundays,” Cr Hall said.

Division 1 Councillor Lisa Bradley said café operators Michael and Laura Thompson had signed a 12-month licence.

“The Thompsons are known in the area as the operators of the Moonlight Bandit café in Parfrey Road, Rochedale South and it is great to now have them operating in Underwood Park,” Cr Bradley said.

“This popular recreational precinct is regularly visited by a large number of visitors and I’m sure the new café will be warmly welcomed by the community.”
