New Chair appointed to Board of Creative Partnerships Australia

Dept of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications

The Morrison Government has appointed Dr Richard Dammery as the next Chair of the Board of Creative Partnerships Australia, replacing Ms Catherine Walter AM when her term ends in mid-December.

Minister for Communications, Urban Infrastructure, Cities and the Arts, the Hon Paul Fletcher MP, said Dr Dammery would provide substantial leadership to Creative Partnerships and in turn, to Australia’s arts and cultural life.

“Dr Dammery’s appointment comes as the creative and cultural sector re-emerges from the devastating impacts of the pandemic,” Minister Fletcher said.

“He will bring significant experience across governance and the private sector, providing leadership to Creative Partnerships to continue encouraging and facilitating private investment in the arts.”

Dr Dammery has been a Director on the Creative Partnerships Board since April 2020 and has extensive governance experience as a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He also serves on a number of boards including WiseTech Global, Aussie Broadband, Doctor Care Anywhere PLC and Australia Post.

Minister Fletcher thanked outgoing Chair Ms Catherine Walter AM for her outstanding leadership of Creative Partnerships, particularly during the unprecedented challenges that arose from the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Morrison Government has also appointed former CEO of North Melbourne Football Club, Mr Carl Dilena, to the Board of Creative Partnerships for a three year term. Mr Dan Rosen, President of Warner Music Australasia and member of the Government’s Creative Economy Taskforce, has been reappointed to the Board for a three year term.
