Mr Matthew Bates has been appointed Chief Executive Officer and Clerk of the Department of the Legislative Assembly.
Mr Bates will take up his appointment from 27 June 2022.
Mr Bates is an experienced senior parliamentary officer, having worked for the Legislative Assembly in Western Australia for over 13 years.
For the past seven years he has been a member of the WA Assembly’s executive team as Clerk Assistant.
Mr Bates has led several high-profile committee inquiries and has been responsible for implementing key business reforms in information technology and community engagement.
