New DREAM – connect, celebrate and Illuminate

Following a few years of hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the DREAM Festival is back bigger than ever with a brand new look and feel!

The 2022 DREAM Festival is set to be a multi-sensory event that celebrates the beauty of the natural and man-made lighting of the Dubbo region. Across 10 days and nights, the festival program will provide light, food, wine, cultural entertainment and music offering visitors a way to Connect, Celebrate and Illuminate with the region of Dubbo.

Mayor of Dubbo Regional Council (DRC) Mathew Dickerson said he is very pleased to see the return of the DREAM Festival. “The DREAM Festival is one of Dubbo’s flagship annual events and attracts thousands of visitors. It is going to be fantastic to welcome people back to our region to enjoy events over a period of 10 days including cultural, music, illumination and outdoor events,” said Mayor Dickerson.

DRC’s Manager of Regional Events Kim Hague said the new look and feel of the DREAM logo is reflective of the current festival and also the long term future of the event. “We are really excited about the new branding for the festival. The new logo is bright, it’s fun, it’s reflective of the new direction for the event – which is a focus on natural and man-made light,” said Ms Hague.

2022 will celebrate the DREAM Festival’s 10th year. The festival is now facilitated by DRC, having been established by a volunteer committee in 2012. The festival has had huge success during that time, attracting over 20,000 people at the last event in 2019.

The popular festival has received support from Destination NSW’s Flagship Event fund, with a commitment of $30,000 each year for three years for the purpose of attracting visitors to Dubbo for the festival.

“Member for the Dubbo electorate Dugald Saunders said he was pleased the NSW Government can support the DREAM Festival in its 10th year. “After a brief hiatus due to COVID, the festival is back and will be better than ever,” Mr Saunders said.

“Events like the DREAM Festival are what’s so great about living in regional communities like ours,” said Mr Saunders.

The 2022 DREAM Festival is proudly sponsored by Macquarie Credit Union (MCU), General Manager Matthew Bow said the Macquarie Credit Union team are very excited to be a major sponsor for the return of the popular festival. “We have a long standing partnership with the DREAM Festival and we are extremely excited to see the return of the renowned community event that everybody looks forward to!” said Mr Bow.
