Construction of a new playground at Forest Hill Oval is underway with a crane lifting large elements into place on Friday 29 May.
The playground, located on the Brunskill Ave side of the oval, is being replaced to update the equipment and increase usability for children aged four to early teens.
Works and Playground Officer John Conlan said the new design was chosen by residents.
“Forest Hill Oval’s playground was outdated and in need of replacing,” Mr Conlan said.
“Earlier in the year we asked the community to vote on their preferred design to replace the playground via the Have Your Say Wagga website.
“The chosen design features a triple swing with bird’s nest, inclusive carousel, adventure tower, multi climbing rope cube, small double slide, balance beam, and more. Council has added a spinning see-saw.”

The installation experienced some delays because of recent wet weather but is expected to be opened to the public in the coming weeks.
The upgrade is part of a schedule of upgrades as part of Council’s Playground Strategy 2024 – 2044.
