New Frankston Hospital Helps Thousands Of Victorians

VIC Premier

Labor delivered the bigger and better Frankston Hospital.

Six months since it opened, thousands of Victorians have already accessed world-class care.

Since opening in January, the hospital has:

  • Delivered more than 6,400 surgeries
  • Delivered more than 2,300 oncology treatment episodes
  • Cared for more than 730 kids
  • Cared for more than 370 chemotherapy patients.
  • Supported more than 870 births

With an additional 130 beds and 15 operating theatres, the hospital has significantly expanded capacity.

This means an extra 35,000 patients are able to access care every year.

Featuring expanded maternity, paediatric, mental health and emergency care services – the redeveloped hospital is reducing wait times for families across Frankston and the Mornington Peninsula.

The new emergency department includes more treatment spaces, a redesigned triage area and dedicated assessment zones to treat patients.

A new rooftop helipad is supporting the safe transfer of critically ill patients.

The $1.1 billion project is the largest ever health infrastructure project in Melbourne’s south east.

A One Nation-Liberal Coalition will axe projects like the Frankston Hospital redevelopment and cut funding to hospitals.

We know they will, because last time they were in power, Liberals cut billions from hospitals.

Now, they’re promising $40 billion in budget cuts.

Victorians can’t afford a One Nation-Liberal Coalition cutting the frontline services they rely on.

As stated by Premier Jacinta Allan

“Labor designed this hospital, built this hospital and opened this hospital and now thousands of Victorians are getting the care they need close to home.”

As stated by Minister for Health Harriet Shing

“This has transformed how local families get the free public healthcare they need.”

As stated by Member for Carrum Sonya Kilkenny

“Jess Wilson’s $40 billion cuts plan will mean nurses sacked at Frankston Hospital.”

As stated by Member for Mordialloc Tim Richardson
